How do you know which lists are right? Ask questions. Specific questions. How did your house place in grades last year? Not are grades important to your house. Did your house make USING and SCANDALS? How did you place? How many girls do you have that are in PLC? Do you have outstanding freshman, sophomores, juniors, BWOC??? When did you last win or place in President's Trophy competition? Did you win any sports in intramurals? What girls do you have that chair or co-chair CAC committees or make up a lot of the members? What's your philanthropy and how much did you raise last year? (Also, did it sound fun???) What do you do for fun with your sisters? How did you choose your big, little? What's the most meaningful thing to you about your sorority? You can ask whatever is important to you. Just ask. Then decide. Just be careful about listening critically to the answers. Ask a followup if the girl recruiting you just says things are great or we always do great or our house is HUGE! ha ha!! Also, if it's a house that brags about looks, realize that the 80 pretty girls you see are being backed up by another 200 or more of unattractive girls. I've heard so many new members complain that they thought their house was filled with pretty girls during recruitment only to find all the unattractive ones after they accepted a bid. This doesn't happen in the houses that are known for other things like academics because they're more accepting.
