For most people there really is a kind of consensus based on what they perceive from recruitment -- which houses they loved and got cut from, etc. People also are keenly aware of which houses do well in campus events and academics. So while people may disagree on exact placement, most people would probably pretty much agree on the general tiers. I think what happens is that when they see a comment that has a house that doesn't do well in any area listed as a top tier house, people reply back saying that "everyone knows" that their ranking isn't correct. It's probably not much of an exaggeration, because the truth is that most people probably do agree and the wrong rank is for the purpose of misleading pnms. What do you think?
