I only took out loans for my sorority stuff senior year so that was one year's worth of dues and stuff. And OBVIOUSLY I didn't go to the bank and say that I wanted a loan for sorority dues. I my parents transferred my tuition $ to my bank account so I paid for my sorority that way, set aside some extra $, and took out a loan for what was outstanding on my tuition/books/living expenses/etc. It was less than 10k and has been manageable to pay off with my job in the past few years, but whether that's true for you really depends on what field you're going into. I'm an engineer so I knew that would get me a good job out of college...I don't think I can say the same for a lot of other majors. And the amount of my loans was much less than many people graduate with. Y'all can say I did a stupid thing, but I don't regret it but I also don't know that I'm the typical girl.
