if you already spoke to an alumni or active willing to go to bat for you sometimes it does not matter about GPA. Most houses are getting stricter than in the past. My roommate two years ago had below a 3.0 and was able to go DG. I am pretty sure that every other house dropped her but DG because of GPA and that an alumni had pushed her through at DG. It works that way at the other houses too. Not a total loss but you have something worked out in advance.
