Be careful of alumni!

This is a true story! I had an alumni call me every single day during rush to ask me how I was doing and which houses I liked the best. I would always list her house first, until skit night when I mentioned that I was leaning towards another house. I still loved hers, but was starting to also like another sorority. I honestly could have been happy in either. I was cut from her sorority just before pref. I was shocked! I knew three chapter alumni who wrote glowing recs. I was friends with two girls on the rush team. I had attended spring parties with them and their alumni rushed me hard all summer long back home. I was cut because I happened to mention that another sorority had grabbed my attention. They made my decision easier for me, but at the same time I will always wonder if wasn't cut, would that have been my house. Moral of the story, don't tell ANYONE which sorority you are leaning towards! Not even your boyfriend or roommate! Other sororities will cut you! And whatever you do, do not talk to alumni about anything! One mis-word and you will be dropped from their sorority!
