Night before bid day

So I went through recruitment two years ago when we preffed three houses, (things were a little different). But after we all signed our bid cards we were required to sleep in our own beds that night (in case of any last minute releases). The mood in the dorms was electric! Everybody was so excited for "Christmas" the next morning. Girls assumed that they were getting their first choices. I myself was already practicing my new hand signs! I told everybody which sorority I was going to run to the next day. EVERYBODY WAS DOING THE SAME. I got lucky, my bid was to my first choice house, but many girls were not so lucky! My roommate got her second choice, so did a friend of mine from high school. My roommate broke down right there where she got her bid, fell to the ground, and cried. We all tried to help her feel better, but we were also so excited to run to our new homes. It was awful! I don't know if going from three to two pref parties helps or hurts girls, but I would never assume you will go to your first choice. Go into bid day hopeful, but cautious! On pref night the girls will all say they see you as a sister and they truly mean it! There is only just so many bids they can hand out.
