Ok, as a recent PNM this past fall I have learned a lot about rush and sororities. I will admit I have been on this side twice or three times and it really is sickening how fake all of this is. I have met so many amazing girls from every sorority. Not every sorority is perfect and not every sorority is necessarily awful. If you look for those things you will find them. However, if you shed light on every single house you will see the sisterhood throughout all them. Being in a sorority should be fun and exciting, not bashing on other sororities. Yes, Ole Miss is one of the most competitive Greek systems there is but at the same time it should be a fun and enjoyable time in your life. Years from now you can look back and remember all the fun experience but when will it ever be useful to your life in the real world? The whole reasoning for a sorority is to form a sisterhood and a bond with girls that form the same personality you do. Girls get into certain houses because of legacy and where they are from. However, a big factor is whether or not we as a whole believe you are suitable for that house. There may be particular reasons why you did not get into a certain house and you may be upset at first and that’s okay but DO NOT put a negative experience on the house you were put into because I will be honest, at first I did not want the house I got, but it ended up being the most amazing experience of my life and at this moment and time I would not change it for the world. It is a great experience and should be made a great experience.
