I had all types of calls at all hours from my friends with daughters cut to their legacy houses after the video round. It did hurt them. But it would hurt more for their daughter to get cut right before preference round or get in the house being a bad fit with very few people talking to her. It will work out try to take your emotion our of it so you can help your child.
