Connections and grades help girls get in at Ole Miss. Currently have a Goddaughter going through recruitment at Ole Miss. Last year another Goddaughter went through and got a house at UF(although not mine but she ended up in a solid mid tier and is very happy). On Sunday another Goddaughter pledged at UGA(although not mine but a solid lower top tier and should be happy). UGA had a 10 percent rate and it included women that chose to drop out as they did not like the choices they had left. This happens all the time and some go through spring rush or do not. What I would encourage as long as the was not a grade risk to go with her choices she has left. If she is a grade risk she may want to consider spring rush if fall does not work out and get those grades up. All sororities do the same thing with friendship, rituals, retreats, etc. Higher tiers may have more socials but everyone at Ole Miss is social. Ole Miss is my alum home for undergraduate and has no bad chapters. Guys do not care what sorority someone is in. She will make friends in any house and in her dorm. These days legacy status is not as big a factor as people make it out to be and I think this is to justify why they were not selected. The Cuts are by formula and so houses with more girls that wanted to come back the fall before are given a smaller size they can invite back then houses not as popular. So keep in mind a house may have loved you but just did not have enough invitations to get to your child on the list. She will find her home have faith.
