Okay I know people are going to laugh at me because yes, I'm a mom and I shouldn't be on here, but I just had to chime in because I know from experience - you want to talk mean girls, under the old system there were sorority women at Ole Miss who LOVED LOVED LOVED having this power over other women and lived to see other women suffer. Girls would laugh about rushees being dropped right before or just after preference. They knew what was happening and got a thrill out of it. Some of it was just plain meanness, but sometimes it was a grudge one family had against another or that one group of girls had against a rushee that had simmered for years and trust me, the revenge was served cold via these poor girls. This is why girls would leave Ole Miss if they got released - it wasn't just that they had been dropped, as bad as that was, but they had been humiliated in a very public way (even without social media to spread the word). Speaking of social media, a lot of these mean girls (from my chapter anyway) are the ones who are always on Facebook now, posting about "positivity" and "family" and "faith" and ordering everybody to be kind to each other. And their daughters can be just as mean as their moms were. It is truly a wonder to behold. I'll shut up now, y'all have fun and good luck!
