bid matching

Poster Message:
Your daughter was not within DDD's quota. Even though some members ranked her highly and really wanted he, it is a chapter decision and those members should have checked their new member list on bid day before making an assumption and texting your daughter. The bid matching algorithm starts at the top of a sorority's ranked list and tries to match with the pnm's who put them at #1. If your daughter had been high enough on DDD's bid list to match with them before they reached quota she would have received a bid from them. She wasn't, so the algorithm then tried to match her with her #2. She was high enough on their list to match with them before they reached quota, so she got the bid from XO. As you can see, bid matching is when a pnm's ranks carry real weight. XO did not steal her because they ranked her higher than DDD, she just did not match with DDD before they filled up.
