I used a rush coach, and as an OOS PNM who ended up receiving a bid to a top tier house, I was VERY grateful I did. First of all, I had NO IDEA it's all decided BEFORE formal recruitment starts. NO. IDEA. Girls turning in their LOR and LOS by May 1? I would have had no clue. It's just not a thing in my state like it is in the south, so I've since learned. (Quick note for incoming PNMs: In HS I had tons of friends, was captain of my cheer team in HS, etc. so I'd say I'm not "socially inept" lol. I don't think any amount of rush coaching can help someone who's just not sociable in the first place.) It's kind of like my ACT prep course. I went with a younger coach from Texas that has a couple different girls working for them and they paired me with a girl that used to be over recruitment at Ole Miss at a top house that I worked with the whole time. She was SO helpful. I had no idea the info on the Panhellenic website was wrong and that everyone is sending digital packets these days. She helped me work through everything with RIF's and LOS's, and she helped me understand what to expect each day of recruitment. They were available to answer calls during recruitment too, which was also helpful. I mean...rush is already stressful, but this helped a lot. I don't think working with a coach is for everyone, but if it's something you feel helps you, just go for it.
