Some groups do call it a no rec. If a chapter wants a girl, they can disregard the rec. Usually the chapter will call the alum for details. Some of these no recs are for petty reasons. The chapter could still go ahead and pledge the girl. I'm an alum, and yes, I say SEND a no rec. Better that the chapter have SOME kind of warning. They can always toss it out.
