^^^to Curious: Honestly, there isn't anything "wrong" with Theta! The chapter is very, very young in comparison to the other sororities on campus. Since the Ole Miss Theta chapter is only 35 years young, alumnae are just now getting to a stage in life where they are able to support the chapter. The first in house legacies are just now old enough to be going through recruitment. So, two major issues really-1) the young chapter just doesn't have the years and years of local alum support that the other houses do 2) there hasn't been time to establish long lines of legacies yet. So, the chapter is naturally smaller in number and size than the older, more richly steeped in MS tradition and legacy chapters on campus. :) It can be said that Theta has to work harder to attract most MS girls since there aren't many homes in which the mothers, grandmothers, and aunts were Thetas at Ole Miss! However, what may seem as a disadvantage in size and number is actually an advantage in other ways! There are more opportunities for leadership development. The members have an easier time getting to know each other since the numbers aren't as large and true sisterhood is experienced. All of that being said, Theta is extremely strong nationally(actually internationally) and has tremendous national recognition! So for those that say that doesn't matter in MS, I think they are wrong. I know plenty of Ole Miss Thetas that are extremely successful in their careers & volunteer organizations in MS!
