from a sorority girl's perspective: I'm in one of the top three sororities at ole miss (XO/KD/DDD) and I am also out of state but I will tell you that I do NOT like KA. They are all the same, they drive big lifted trucks, they have a KA sticker on the back, the shout "the south will rise" (I have nothing against southern pride, they're just a little overbearing). They're just your typical redneck in my opinion. They are also all from the same high school or town and are VERY clique-y. Our swap with them was AWFUL! They don't know how to talk to girls!!! I do have a few friends in there that I really like, but the majority of them I can't stand. They're made fun of the most on campus behind Pike and Sig Ep. A lot of girls in my sorority like them but I just can't see why (probably went to high school with them or something). I feel like the only reason girls become "KA groupies" is so they can be asked to Old South. Don't get me wrong they ARE top tier BUT sadly the majority of the boys are impolite and rude (NOT southern gentlemen). I definitely agree with you that they're riding on their chapter name and history.
