Ole Miss is an inexpensive option for Texans that are not in the top 15% of their high school class. Texans also go to other public out of state schools when they can't get into the UT, A&M, even Tech. It is EASY to get into Ole Miss or Arkansas, so Texas kids go there. Baylor, SMU, TCU are expensive private schools. Ole Miss, Arkansas, LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma recruit heavily in Texas to get the kids not able to afford the private schools and can't get into A&M and Texas. This is why Texans end up at Ole Miss - plain and simple.
