I wouldn't listen to the post above this at all! It isn't true (especially about guys needing recommendation letters LOL). I am a girl from New York and got into a southern house at Ole Miss but I know a lot about fraternity rush and can tell you that it's all about you fitting in with the guys and not making a fool out of yourself at rush parties.I know a lot of guys from New York and surrounding northern areas that are very happy in their fraternities. 1)Will be northern hurt your chances? Yes and no. Are you going to be a KA? probably not. It's an old southern house and they take jackson boys. You probably don't want to be there anyway, they are very country. But if you fit in with them and they like you then it shouldn't be an issue. I know northern guys in Sigma Nu and that's supposedly an "all southern house". Go to the rush parties and meet the guys. Don't do anything stupid to try to impress them, they just want to see if you can hangout with them or not and if you're cool. Phi Psi, Beta Theta Pi and Sigma Pi are full of northern guys and they have a great time. You aren't limited to those 3 houses, it's just where a lot of northern guys end up. There are northern guys in other houses, it just depends on where you fit in. Find out where your people are. 2) Sophomores live in the house with exec members. I don't know what the person above me was talking about..
