Before I came to Ole Miss I wasn't comfortable with small talk either - and probably on the quieter side as a result. I graduated a few years ago and I went into a job that actually requires me to be social - a lot of event work and chit chatting with people I don't know. My friends from home (I'm from the north, and the only one of my friends to join a sorority) all commented that they don't know how I go to these events and just strike up conversations with complete strangers - You want to know how?
