Being an ignorant moron is a con, too. Hey, pnms from the north or the west, or out of state-non-southern. When you come to ole miss, just know that there are people here who will be thrilled to meet you. And there are people who will secretly think they are better than you because of geography. Sorry ladies, even if you insist that's not true, guess what? Saying things like - she's really great, but she's from the north - is thinking you are better. Guess which houses tend to think that? The so-called upper tier. The houses that "everybody" wants. The houses run by alumni. The houses that are the 13th grade of high school. The houses that are only southern or oos southern. They will always see you as different. Don't waste your time and energy here because you don't have to. There are long-established chapters that pull girls from all over like theta and aopi that are amazing, have great philanthropy opportunities, and where you will be accepted for you. There are new chapters that have a lot of opportunities for leadership, like Aphi and ADPi, that are amazing. Think you might want to be a sorority president or rush chair one day? I promise you that won't happen in XO! I And yes, I fully expect somebody to chime in and say "I'm from the north and in a top tier sorority and I love it!" - they are the exception to the membership demographics. And that's a fact.
