This is probably the dumbest comment I have read on this site, and that's saying a lot because about every other comment is mind bendingly idiotic. No matter what level 'tier' you are in you probably come from some money. $700.00 a month fees require some financial backing. I am in what would be considered a middle/lower sorority and we have lots of former cheerleaders, class Presidents, homecoming queens, etc. I strongly suspect we have more former "popular" girls than some of the upper tiers, we just weren't the legacy of 'mommies' who went here. The biggest reason OOS can make more friends is that are open to making new friends, the fact that they are willing to step out of their comfort zone and travel to a different part of the country makes them more open to new experiences and meeting new people. Most of the upper tiers choose to remain tethered to their high school friends. Personally I don't see why it's a big deal, if you want to continue your high school experience than do it. If you want a more diverse college experience than enjoy that experience. Trust me, most of us OOS aren't staying in Mississippi after graduation, so we are moving on to bigger and better things.
