There is one bit of truth in the post above: top-tier houses are 99.9% filled with Mississippi /Memphis, Ole Miss legacy and other super-duper-connected girls. Breaking into the top tier if you're from out of the region/OOS and don't know anyone is tough. With the new quota system, even Ole Miss legacies got cut last year. The mid-tier houses are largely Mississippi/Deep South girls. Not saying you couldn't get in, but with no connections, it could be hard. Most unconnected, OOS (especially Out-of-Region) girls land in lower tier houses. Don't write them off! Some great girls there and with the new quota system, they can be way more selective than in past years. And, there are exceptions to every rule! Being from California won't be your challenge - it's being out of the region with no connections. Have an open mind - be interested in every house and you likely will find a home. Be aware of how tough Ole Miss recruitment is so that you're not shell-shocked as I've known some OOS girls to be. By the way, what brings you to Mississippi all the way from California? Even with a large OOS population (most are from the South), it's a different culture. And I wish you luck.
