sweetie, no one here is going to like you because you are different. this isn’t an ivy league school where they embrace difference and uniqueness. mississippi has a stereotype, either you fit into it, or you don’t. doesn’t matter if you are from a rich part of california or if you are the prince of england. we are scarred of anyone better than us. yes 60% of our school is out of state. but 40% of the 60% is from memphis. given memphis is closer to ole miss than the biggest 3 cities in mississippi (jackson, gulfport, biloxi). the other 15% is from close by states (GA, Bama, Louisianna, texas) and really 5% is out of area or if you want to call it, out of state. you are downgrading yourself by coming here. There’s a lot of schools in the south that embrace out of staters. Vandy, Florida, FSU, etc has a lot of out of state, even Bama. Not here. All the california girls I know are in low to mid tier sororitys. And the ones in mid tier are literally like super models.
