Hate to break it to you, but it was probably your attitude. With the new quota system, chapters couldn't afford to just take a whole bunch of "legacies" (even if Aunt is considered a legacy, because for some sororities it isn't). The sisters probably saw that you felt entitled to a bid, and that's a huge no. Chapters want girls who are confident, enthusiastic about joining their sisterhood, and connect with the sisters. They don't want any member who thinks they'll just get a bid because mommy or whomever will get it for them!
