Your daughter is LUCKY to have one invite to pref. Many beautiful and accomplished PNM's were not as lucky this week. Cuts can happen at any time; while the chapters have to release larger numbers earlier in the week it doesn't mean that any PNM is "safe" until the pref invites go out. I am sorry your daughter thinks she is too good for the house that invited her to pref. That's what you meant by "doesn't see herself there", right?? Because I don't understand how your daughter could see herself being unable to make friends in a group of 300-400 women. There are all kids of girls in every house - academics, partiers, Bible beaters, cheerleader-types, student government types, serious girls, funny girls, etc. I'm sorry your daughter wasn't able to see that during her rush week. The reality is that unless your daughter makes a huge amount of friends in a key house or two this year (while making 3.75+ GPA and being involved in prestigious campus organizations), her best chance of ever joining an Ole Miss sorority is happening TODAY. I hope she filled out her pref card and will give this house a chance.
