A snap bid is given in the window after pref and before bids are handed out (in a "snap") to quickly make quota. A girl that is lucky enough to get a snap bid will think she's been dropped by everyone, then get an offer to accept a bid. No one but the PNM and a few girls at the sorority even know it happened. COB is "continuous." It can start as soon as bids are handed out until the chapter reaches quota or total. They aren't the same thing. Snap bids are to make quota in a hurry; COB is to reach quota and total and it takes as long as it takes...sometimes all year.
