(1) Please stop acting like getting into a house is like getting drafted into the NBA. Truth is anyone in a Greek life here is considered middle class. Don't mean to offend any one, but this isn't Harvard/Yale and this isn't the 1900s, most view Greeks as losers who can't make friends or get party invites. 4,000 incoming freshman (2,000 boys/2,000 girls)...40% rush, so 800 girls will rush and at least 300 (prob closer to 350) will get into one of the top 3 houses....nothing impressive. As far the upper class, you know who they are. The 25 incoming football recruits. The about 100 or so that get into med school each year out of the 1400 (35% of incoming class declared themselves "pre-med"). (2) Just because it's a top house...doesn't mean it's the right house. I went to a private school in Jackson, grew up coming to the grove for football games. I am at a top house and it's mostly Jackson girls. Don't get me wrong, I get along with everyone and we don't exclude others, but it's just a completely different level of connection with people you've known form high school and live in the same place and hang out with over breaks. (3) Greek life is whatever you make it! I know a ton of girls that aren't in what are considered top houses and they are happy and make the best of it. Others get disappointed (as many of you will be this week) that they didn't get into the house they wanted to and just have a Debbie Downer attitude
