I feel the need to clarify what a snap bid is. A COB, or snap bid, is ONLY given if a chapter does not make quota. The girl MUST have participated in recruitment but been dropped. To my knowledge she cannot sign a bid card on pref night as that binds her to whatever houses were left on her card. She cannot drop as that removes her from the running- I could be wrong on this point but from being a Gamma Chi that is what I understood. It is extremely risky and not guaranteed. You would have had to have been on some sort of flex list for the house- this means they wanted you but just didn't have enough spots to keep you. And that is why you were released from them. Stick with what you have left and keep an open mind. It is the best available option. I only ever saw like one house on bid day need to take snap bids- that happened twice out of my four years. The chapters are trying to lower their numbers after all.
