Nobody is an expert with variable quotas. It's still too new. Yes, Ole Miss utilizes RFM, but even there, they do not explicitly guarantee bids. With variable quotas, we are hopeful that there will be just enough girls matching without having to go over with quota additions, if additions are even allowed this year. In the past, chapters have taken 20 or more quota additions. Putting a cap on membership sizes this year, I can't see quota additions as being fair in their efforts to level the playing field. What might end up happening (just a theory) would be chapters that don't make quota may extend snap bids to those girls don't match before chapters reach quota. For example, you pref DG and Pi Phi. You are low on both their lists, and they reach their respective quota's before either reaches your name. Theoretically, you would go bidless. (in the past, they have allowed quota additions) But, this year say Theta or APhi does not make quota, they would be allowed to offer you a snap bid. In this case, your gamma chi could call you before bid ceremony and let you know that you did not match with either chapter you preffed, but another chapter offered you a snap bid. You would attend attend bid day same as everyone else, get a bid card, and run to the house written on your card.
