As a girl who knew little about rush when I went through many years ago, I can tell you this: I wanted to pledge a group that was SUPER good at the school I was attending and cared NOTHING about what it would do for me after those 4 years. This generation of Greek students is very short-sighted and does not see much beyond the sunset of each day. They generally feel very entitled and, for the most part, are used to having someone to clean up after them (mom & daddy). I know this because I currently work with college students. Now don't get the wrong idea - I love students!! But, ask anyone in education and they'll tell you - this generation is very much unlike any other in respect to thinking beyond the 4 yrs of college.
