I can't think of a single sorority on campus that "chapter" legacies are not guaranteed bids. If you are not a chapter legacy, chapters might (depending on the chapter) invite you to the second invitational round, but that's about it. If they don't plan in giving you a bid, you will be dropped before pref. Cousins & grand daughters are not legacies, but still have advantages. This has nothing to do with legacies, but for the top houses, if your rec letters are not written by a chapter alumni, it doesn't hold nearly as much weight!
