Horrible advice! In my chapter our national bylaws state that we can't extend an invitation to pref parties with out a rec. It's in most sororities bylaws. The only exception may be the lower tier sororities who will have their alumni advisors write you one if they plan to give you a bid. Top tier have too many girls with Recs to worry about the girls who don't have them.
