I agree, Greek life is amazing. there are tons of opportunities to get involved both inside and outside the Greek community. However, I disagree with you about opportunities such as president, vp, treasure, etc. and about conventions and such. Each sorority is 400 strong. Only 5 or so will have the opportunities of any sort of significant leadership, and in my sorority, those positions usually go to chapter legacies. Sure we "pretend" to vote on such positions, but much like recruitment, our alumni control officer positions as well. We have 20 or so "officer positions", but all but 3 or 4 are held by chapter legacies. And each officer position answers to an alumni advisor or group of advisors. Don't mean to be a "negative nelly", but let's keep it real here. Adpi and aphi may be exceptions because they don't have a strong alumni base. If its leadership you are after and want to have a significant voice, stick to the newer sororities, especially if your mom or grandmother didn't attend ole miss.
