Totally agree. This isn't elite it's called being exclusive which at a state public institution makes you not better than junior high mentality. Everyone knows that for the most part recruitment is a lucky event...so much hinges on who rushes you and who you may know. A LOT of stuff goes on behind each chapters closed doors....so luck is involved. My friends and I love our chapter and our actual house is gorgeous but at 21 we are ready to live out, at IU you can't, which is ridiculous. I have friends all over the country in pledge classes from 9 to 100 and all of them are tight with their sisters. In any size class there are people you will naturally gravitate and be closer with than others.. As they say, size doesn't matter. I don't think any other university is envious of our recruitment. While I had a very successful recruitment 3 years ago I know plenty of awesome, gorgeous and smart girls that didn't and have been left out of Greek life. It's time for change.
