Hello from the lower tier

Coming to this site around this time of year always makes me sad because I know there are hundreds of girls going into rush who's only knowledge about my sorority comes from anonymous rankings. I was one of those girls too! What you should know: 1. Bottom tier houses still have pairs every weekend. I still get asked to fraternity formals and date parties. I have had basically the same social experience as top tier girls except with a different set of fraternities. 2. You might get some backhanded compliments... "Wow you're so pretty, I can't believe you're an XYZ" You learn to shrug it off but rarely will someone say something outright mean like on greek rank in real life. 3. I have friends who joined houses based on social status that are super unhappy with their life. 4. Basically when you turn 21 the social scene moves to the bars and no one cares what house you're in. Joining my sorority is literally the best thing that has ever happened to me and I genuinely love my sisters so much. Good luck with recruitment and don't be ashamed of what houses you do or don't get asked back to. :)
