Every sorority has top tier and bottom tier chapters, regions where they're stronger and better known, but national reputations are a whole other thing. Number of chapters =/= national strength There's this thing called quality. There are a lot of sororities that have a lot of chapters but at crap schools with small small membership numbers. Theta Phi Alpha may have 102 active chapters but they consist of mostly 30 member chapters at schools no one has ever heard of, with weak Greek life and they have fewer than 20,000 total members. AEPhi has a lot fewer chapters, but those are significantly stronger chapters at better and more prestigious schools. They have much higher total members than Theta Phi Alpha. Delta Zeta has a ton of chapters because they absorbed a bunch of failing sororities and the quality of the schools they are at leaves a lot to be desired. Whenever they go out for a colonization at a strong school, they get beat by other sororities. They're a joke.
