First and foremost, the Kappa sisterhood at Indiana University is exceptionally strong. Our chapter is one of the most loyal and supportive communities on campus, built on a foundation of standing up for one another and fostering lifelong bonds. Every situation has two sides, and when someone feels left out or misunderstood, it’s important to address the matter with open communication and empathy. This chapter is deeply committed to mental health care, meaningful conversations, and creating an environment of love and support. As a former KKG at IU, I’ve had the privilege of seeing this sisterhood in action. I’ve spent time with this past executive council & watched these leaders work tirelessly to uphold our values and support every member. Kappa alumnae from IU form a close-knit group that continues to stand by one another for life. These are intelligent, driven women who not only support their sisters within the house but also stand up for each other in the real world. It truly is an “army of love,” and I am consistently in awe of this community. If you’re looking for a sisterhood where lifelong friendships are formed, where people truly care about your well-being, and where you’ll always have someone to turn to, this is that house. We must rise above the negativity of platforms like GreekRank, which often spread misinformation and promote unnecessary drama. Instead, let’s choose kindness and understanding. I can assure you that if someone ever feels less love or misunderstood, it’s addressed with open conversations. In fact, when someone feels isolated, it often stems from mutual misunderstandings, and the chapter is quick to find resolutions through dialogue. Regarding concerns about bullying—let me be clear—Kappa Kappa Gamma does not tolerate bullying in any form. From my experience with this chapter, I know that when a member’s actions conflict with our values or house guidelines, it’s addressed respectfully and constructively. People may misinterpret actions, but the intention is never to harm. Often, these situations are rooted in behavior that doesn’t align with our shared standards, and our leadership ensures these matters are handled with care and fairness. As a Kappa who has witnessed firsthand the strength and resilience of this chapter, I can confidently say that KKG fosters an environment of respect and kindness. If there are concerns about what happened, I’m happy to facilitate a meeting between the individual and our executive council, and anyone else involved to address these issues openly & fairly. But I was there and this did not happen. Behaviors often associated w superficial judgment or exclusion are not part of Kappa culture. I’ve heard stories about other houses at IU where such things occur, but Kappa is different. This is a house where members support each other, celebrate other’s successes, and lift one another up. Kappa Kappa Gamma at IU is a sisterhood rooted in love, accountability, & lifelong friends
