The "hazing" that they do in Business Frats prepares you for interviews. You will rewrite your resume/LinkedIn page about 200 times. You will be grilled with interview questions. When you get through that process, you are far more prepared for professional interactions and have a leg up on others interviewing. The hazing that you see in social frats is dumb ass stuff which may build brotherhood or kill you, but absolutely won't assist in getting you a job. Believe me, I have been through both and I definitely think a Business frat would be my first choice if your focus is preparing for a career. If you just want to have fun, social frats have an edge. I have met kids in business frats that can’t hold a conversation if their life depended on it. The brotherhood aspect has a way bigger role than you think. Alumni of fraternities know what it took to become initiated and are way more willing to go out of their way to recruit you than business fraternity alumni. Half of the members of business fraternities barely know each other 😂. Fraternities teach you a lot of the soft and interpersonal skills that you’d never learn in a business fraternity. Lastly, social frats have way more fun than business frats. The fact that kids in social frats still have similar GPAs and jobs post graduation compared to people in just business frats indicates that you might as well go social frat over business frat.
