tier system is never going to change. it just wont. with 22 sororities and even more frats and such a big school not every house is going to be on the same page. plus, half the tier system is just because of sororities and frats forming bonds. the real issue is how tiers are looked at. I have many friends in "lower tier" houses and during rush visited many of them and all the ladies in those houses are great women and joined their chapter for a reason. there is however in issue in how houses are perceived. even within my own house I get annoyed with people who look down at lower and even middle tier houses. every house has their own amazing qualities and theres no reason to disregard another chapter bc thats what makes the greek community hostile and gives it a bad reputation. As for the original question, do informal as a junior because it would be the same houses. many houses will not invite you back as a junior during informal because they need to fill up spots in their house, not have live outs and it makes the pledge class divided
