Subject:
what's it really like to be unhoused? differences?

Poster Message:
I'm a freshman girl who has a great GPA and was involved with a lot of activities in high school. Looks-wise...I'd say I'm cute and normal sized and I dress well and do my make up. Just so you guys can get a picture. However, rush has not been going like I had hoped it would. In this most recent round most of the sororities I got invited back to were unhoused...so I feel like there is a good chance that if I end up with a bid I'll be in an unhoused chapter. I'm not saying I'm not open to potentially joining an unhoused group...it just wasn't what I was expecting and I have some questions. I was wondering...what is it REALLY like to be in an unhoused sorority? How much does having a house actually matter? What's the real difference from sorority members? Housed girls, do you feel like you are getting a much better experience than your unhoused friends? Unhoused girls, do you ever regret going unhoused? Also, will the unhoused sororities ever get houses? I think someone told me they were saving for them...do you think it will happen? I wanted to ask these questions and get real answers during rush...but I'm too shy to ask because I don't want anyone to think I'm putting them down or that I'm not open to joining their house. I need to start trying to wrap my head around this and that's why I feel like I need these answers. Thanks!
