The tier system is simply just people copying what the last person said. It holds no true value whatsoever. The only things that matters in terms of how good a fraternity or sorority are the pairs and the brotherhood/sisterhood. A "good fraternity" is one that fun (cool to hang out with, know how to party) sororities with attractive girls want to pair with. A "good sorority" is one that classy, yet fun fraternities with good-looking guys want to pair with. Also, every chapter on campus can say that the brotherhood/sisterhood is strong, but there is a real difference in quality between them. It is hard to say which ones are and which ones aren't really family unless you are/have been involved with that chapter. But, I invite the greek life members to truly reflect to see if your chapters are as close as they should be.
