Just a little background on me, I am a member of an upper middle tier/not top tier yet house. I get out when I can and try to be active in greek life. I think it is a great way to build a man. All my views are those from what I hear from other girls and just rumors from my fellow Brothers. When being in middle tier you are pretty much stuck there if you ask me; unless you have great pledge classes for the next 4/5 years. From what I see the houses that have potential to move up from middle tier (in the next 2-4 years) are Sig Eps, Psi U, and Phi Delt. Sig Eps is on my list because from what I hear from girls are that they are a chill house to hang out with. They are close to the dorms which is a great rush tool. Heard they only care about ranking though. Not a good goal to only care about, but think what you want I guess. Psi U is here because I have never heard about them when I rushed as a freshman, but now with my senior year I have heard there name come up a lot more. I know they have a beautiful house and the girls say they are friendly and throw decent parties. However, heard they don't do much in the community and I believe that is a HUGE part for Greek Life to do and without it hurts chances of ever improving. Lastly I wanted to include a new house in here so I picked Phi Delt. I don't know much about them yet other then they have 40 some actives already. They are getting their old house back (SDT's current house) which is another beautiful house but far away.
