It's not that they won't take women who intentionally choose only one bid home. It's that you may not be listed high enough on their final bid list to be given a bid. Sorority websites everywhere strongly encourage you not to 'suicide' in recruitment for that reason. For ANYONE not in the know it goes like this, none of its secret its done by computers: If you have two or more final formal party invites and intentionally choose to attend only one of them, and that home can only bid 45 women, you may be listed number 70 on their final bid card because homes normally invite 2 or 3 times the number they bid to final parties then rank them by number. The first 45 women on their bid list will be the women they most want to bid and will likely receive that home's bids. Even if 5 do not match your desired choice (and they match a house elsewhere) the home's final list will then only try matching numbers 46 thru 50. If 2 of those do not match numbers 51 and 52 are chosen for bids. If 51 and 52 match to your suicide house that ends that home's 45 women they are bidding. But if you're only invited to one final formal party, listing only that house on your pref card is not considered a suicide listing. If a top house is the ONLY ONE INVITING you to their final party, you attend it and you list them as your sole bid choice, the recruitment system works to place you with that house unless that house suddenly discovers you're a bad character and declines bidding you.
