It depends on context but sometimes I'm willing to believe it. If it's during hate week I usually call BS. If they're announcing it to everyone at a party it's usually BS. All I'm going to say is that even if someone did well enough to get into U-M, they may not enjoy the atmosphere or (like me) may want to get some distance between themselves and their hometown
