I think the university revoked their recognition, but K-Sig nationals has disagreed with that punishment & is keeping the chapter open, which is uncommon but not unheard of. So they are an independent fraternity for now. This could get very interesting if they stay independent & another fraternity follows suit. WVU & Colorado, for example are two universities where fraternities have split from the university completely to form independent IFCs after disagreements between university admin & fraternity national offices over disciplining chapters. Situations like that are a disaster for universities because they lose all control over the fraternities. Basically SDSU‘s Greek life office is at a breaking point right now & needs to completely rethink how it disciplines it’s fraternities or it will risk losing all control over them
