Subject:
rushing a sorority as a senior?? is it worth it?

Poster Message:
So basically from what the subject title says, I'm wondering if it's worth rushing as a senior? Yeah it sounds ridiculous and I could hardly find any information on girls rushing as seniors on the internet so I'm asking for advice and opinions. Currently I'm a junior at SDSU, I'll be turning 21 over winter break, and I heard very few SDSU sororities rush during spring so I was thinking is it worth to wait for fall and rush when I'm 21 and a senior? I know younger girls are heavily considered and I've seen some juniors successfully rush, but hardly, if any, seniors. I'm interested in a sorority b/c as a commuter (live 20~ min from home w/ my parents) it's very hard to make friends and feel involved. I did take a look at the SDSU clubs and once tried to join one but it didn't work out. I'm primarily interested in joining a sorority rather than a club. I would feel very regretful to look back at my college experience and know I did nothing but drive to class and immediately go home and missed out on being in a sorority or having good friends. I'd love to make some girl friends and be involved. I have hardly made any real friends on campus (due to being a commuter & hardly spending time on campus) and my primary interest is to make friends. I'm not interested in partying, the stupid ranks, or any of that. -----Basically, I'm almost 21, a junior, and a commuter. Probably sounds very unattractive for any sorority to consider but I'm thinking of maybe just going for it and seeing what happens. If I do decide to rush (very very unsure about it), I would be rushing alone so would like to know what that's like. Any advice or comments would be helpful. Thanks!
