Not getting a bid happens, but is extremely unlikely. 90% of the time, the girls who don't get a bid are the ones who were too picky and didn't maximize their options (by "suiciding"). And yes, you can drop a house and still go back to it. Above, I said that you may not have a full schedule. In this case, if sororities you dropped are willing to have you back, they will be added onto your schedule in order to give you the most options possible. For example, say you went to sororities A, B, C, D, and E, you have to "drop" 2. You decide drop D and E. However, for whatever reason, sorority C doesn't ask you back. Your schedule the next day will be A, B, D (assuming that you ranked D above E). Some girls may get dropped from more than one, you can end up going back to both D and E if it fills their schedule. Some girls maybe get dropped from even more and end up preffing only at A, or even only at D or E which they tried to drop. Even if you get invited back to houses you maybe didn't click with at first, give them a chance, be has that obviously saw something in you that they liked enough to bring back, and that means a lot. Keep your mind open and you'll definitely run home to a great sorority on bid day.
