You won’t notice it if you don’t join. It’s 4.3% (just over 3k students of almost 70K student body) of UCF’s enrollment. The houses are on a part of campus you never have to go and the 3k represents all 48 different Greek organizations (not what you’re picturing when you think of rush). Several organizations are very small in number but even the largest (a handful of Panhellenic sororities) are only 150 members. It doesn’t hurt to check it out and go through recruitment. You’re not obligated to join unless you accept a bid, but no, you will not miss out on the college experience if you don’t join. There are other clubs and organizations that are more involved on campus.
