This except idk if I would bother with the amends part, it's not that it wouldn't work but maybe it's just better to see how they act towards you first? There were some people I hated in high school that came here after graduation and I feel pretty neutral to them, I never see them and I'm in a sorority so why would I waste energy about it? People change. Plus it could seem you're only trying to be nice just so they don't say stuff about you in fall rush. The timing might be too coincidental to seem genuine.
