As this website is undoubtedly filled with a bunch of dudes trying to either talk their house up or talk another one down I’m going to give an unbiased approach to rush for PNM’s. When you go through rush you will hear a million different times “go where you fit in” or “go with the best conversations, every house throws down” and I would tell you to listen to them. While it is true, not every house throws down the same and not every experience will be the same it is also true that if you choose a house where you don’t fit in you will hate your time there and end up dropping or being dropped. If you are scared of joining a house for fear that they are a “low house” just remember these rankings will look completely different by your senior year. If this last year in IFC was proof of anything it is that houses change. When you get to rush be a kid that is easy to talk to and come across as confident. If that’s not you, fake it till you make it. Pro tip: no one cares about your high school party stories, leave those in high school. With that being said I’m going to give a brief run down of the IFC chapters that most PNM’s will end up joining: Momentum will be as follows: (+) - moving up (-) - moving down (=) - Staying the same Top tier: Sig Chi (=) Pike (=) Theta Chi (=) Upper Middle (These are all typically interchangeable based off of preference): Beta(+) Sammy(-) Pi Kapp(+) ZBT (=) AEPi (-) Lower Middle: KA (-) TDX (+) Sig Ep (=) Phi Delt(-) Top Bottom: Theta Xi (+) Zeta Psi(-) Lower Bottom: Sig Tau (=) TKE(+) FIJI (+) Phi Tau(=)
