They aren't a big deal. If your a legacy you could have whoever in your family that was in a sorority write a letter to that sorority saying your accomplishments and how great of a candidate you are. If you have friends or your parents friends that are alumni from a sorority your interested in you could have them write a letter too. Typically theres not too many letters of rec. Our school isn't really like that, its more of a requirement in the south. I didn't have a letter of rec and i got a bid from the house i wanted. Hope that helped !
